Reviewers from regulatory and research institutions are currently gathered at the EDEMA Conference Hall in Morogoro for the Clinical Trial Reviewers Training (17–19 June 2026) under the TRACE Project.Today’s session features presentations on the training objectives, delivered by Dr. Obadia Bishoge, Head of Health Research Regulation Section at NIMR and TRACE Project Coordinator. The session focuses on strengthening ethical and regulatory review processes for clinical trial protocols in Tanzania.The training focuses on strengthening ethical review in clinical research, improving risk mitigation and benefit-sharing, and addressing issues of research misconduct.Implemented by the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in collaboration with the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA), the TRACE Project continues to strengthen research integrity and regulatory systems, supporting Africa’s goal to increase participation in global clinical trials from below 2% to 10% by 2030.
