Judith Msovela, MD, MMed (Community Health)
Dr. Judith Msovela is a Senior Research Officer at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) with over 15 years of experience in public health research. She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Master of Medicine in Community Health (MMed) from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS).

Dr. Msovela has led and contributed to numerous health research projects involving both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, with work spanning community and health facility settings. Her core research interests include: Reproductive and child health, HIV/AIDS and health systems research, Menstrual Health Management (MHM), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and Traditional Medicine

She is recognized for her expertise in research design, implementation, and scientific reporting, and has co-authored several technical reports and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Msovela’s work continues to inform policy and practice in Tanzania, supporting evidence-based interventions to strengthen public health systems and community well-being.
