CALL FOR STUDY TITLES – POLICY BRIEF WRITESHOP
The National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), established under the NIMR Act of Parliament No. 23 of 1979 (revised 2002), is the principal government institution mandated to coordinate, conduct, and promote the application of medical research findings to improve the health and well-being of the people of Tanzania.
In line with this mandate, NIMR—through the Health Systems, Policy and Translational Research Section under the Directorate of Research, Coordination and Promotion (DRCP), will conduct a Virtual Policy Brief Writeshop aimed at strengthening research-to-policy translation.
Researchers from governmental and non-governmental institutions in Tanzania with ongoing or completed studies on Cancer and NTDs are invited to submit study titles aligned with the following priority themes and scopes:

Cancer
- Policy, governance, and strategic planning
- Prevention, early detection, and screening
- Health systems and service delivery
- Financing and health insurance
- Diagnostics, medicines, and technologies
- Surveillance, data systems, and evidence generation
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)
- Policy, governance, and strategic planning
- Financing and sustainability
- Health systems integration and service delivery
- Mass drug administration and preventive chemotherapy
- Surveillance, data, and evidence
- Community engagement and multisectoral action
Researchers with studies addressing these areas are invited to submit their study titles via the link provided. Selected titles will be invited to participate in a virtual training to support the development of high-quality policy briefs.
The developed policy briefs will be published in the Tanzania Journal of Health Research (TJHR), and a national policy dialogue will be convened to disseminate findings and inform policymakers and key stakeholders.
