Dr. Peter Mangesho

PRINCIPAL RESEARCH OFFICER

Dr Mangesho He holds a MA in Medical Sociology and Anthropology and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cape Town. He has 17 years research experience with NIMR participating in many projects on HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria, health systems improvements, trials participation experiences, concomitant  drug  use,  One  Health  and  Eco  health  research,  Social  cultural aspects of Zoonotic diseases, Ebola, cultural aspects of antimicrobial use and resistance, toxicology, as well as research on the histories of medical research institutes, antibiotics and insecticides in Africa. Dr Mangesho has published 27 peer reviewed journal publications and book chapters.

Dr Mangesho is currently on a 2 year Research fellow tenure at the University of Oslo Department of Community Medicine and Global health working on a project titled From Asia to Africa: Antibiotic trajectories across the Indian Ocean. https://www.med.uio.no/helsam/english/research/projects/antibiotic- trajectories-across-indian-ocean/
