Ms. Calister Imeda

RESEARCH OFFICER

Calister Imeda is a research scientist in the National Institute for Medical Research since 2004. She holds a master degree in Public Health specializing in health promotion from Georgia State University, a master degree of arts specializing in demography from the University of Dar-es-Salaam and a bachelor degree in science with education with majors in Chemistry, Mathematics and Education from the University of Dar – es -Salaam. Her areas of research have mainly been on Traditional medicine, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Maternal health. 

Ms. Imeda is an active member of Tanzania menstrual health and hygiene coalition and  
has recently led successfully a national wide study on the situation of menstrual health among school going girls.

Ms. Imeda has won competitive grand Challenges Canada grants as a principal investigator or Co-Investigator in 2004, 2005 and 2019.  She has a wide experience in implementing intervention studies, evaluation studies as well situation analysis studies.  Ms. Imeda has skills and experience on the use of data analysis software such as SPSS AND CMA for meta-analysis.
