NIMR Muhimbili Centre has launched DIMENSION (Digital Empowerment for Mental Health in Tanzania: Enhancing Healthcare Capacity through Innovative Digital Training Solutions for People Living with HIV), a new project aimed at bringing digital innovation to mental health care for people living with HIV in Tanzania.
The project brings together NIMR Muhimbili Centre, the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS), and the University of Copenhagen–Psychiatry Centre to strengthen mental health care capacity through innovative digital training solutions and equitable partnerships.
Through capacity building, DIMENSION project seeks to address challenges in mental health care and advance the use of digital solutions to support mental health services. The project also aims to develop a replicable digital tool (a digital solution that can be used in other settings with similar needs and resource constraints) to improve mental health screening, education and service delivery in low-resource settings.
The initiative contributes to ongoing efforts to connect research, digital innovation and health-system capacity building to strengthen mental health care for people living with HIV in Tanzania.
