The National Best Health Scientist

✔️ Recognizes excellent national scientists who have made substantial contributions to health research.
✔️ The top three nominees with the most votes are assessed for selection.

The National Lifetime Award in Health Research

✔️ Recognizes the contribution of scientists who have retired from public service but made substantial contributions to health research and continue to do so throughout their lifetime.

✔️ Nominations should include details of the health research achievements.

✔️ The top three nominees with the most votes are assessed for selection.

Mwelecele Malecela Memorial Award

✔️ Recognizes Early Career Researchers in health.

✔️ Should not be over 40 years old at the time of award.

✔️ Should have experience in health research, not more than ten years.

✔️ Should have at least three papers published in peer-reviewed journals (as the first/last author of two).

✔️ Has presented their work at Scientific Conferences at least once that year.

✔️ Has developed or participated in developing at least two fundable proposals that year.

✔️ The top three nominees with the most votes are assessed for selection.

The National Health Innovation Award

✔️ Recognizes a Tanzanian scientist who has made a significant contribution to a high-impact health innovation/research that has the potential to improve the health and well-being of our population and beyond.

✔️ Nominations should include details of the innovation/research.

✔️ The top three nominees with the most votes are assessed for selection.

Maria Kamm Best Female Scientist Award

✔️ Recognizes an outstanding female scientist who has significantly contributed to research and capacity building nationwide.

✔️ Demonstrated excellence in research and made a notable contribution to research discovery, as shown through recognition by professional societies and community organisations and receipt of distinguished scientific awards.

✔️ Significant scientific contributions to the research arena locally, nationally, or internationally.

✔️ At least five peer-reviewed publications (as the first/last author) in the past five years.

✔️ Contribution to capacity building of junior/upcoming research scientists through training and mentorship.

✔️ Contribution to dissemination and translation of research evidence and related scientific content through different platforms.

✔️ The top three nominees with the most votes are assessed for selection.
