Saidi Mfaume
I Saidi M. Mfaume, Laboratory Scientist at Muhimbili Medical Research Centre of the National Institute for Medical Research, at Central TB Reference Laboratory. I joined NIMR in March 1989 as Laboratory Assistant. In 1991 I admitted for Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, at Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences and completed in 1994. In 1994 I was re-categorized as Laboratory Technician. In 2008 to 2011, I joined Sokoine University of Agriculture for Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Sciences.
Among the short courses I attended includes; 1) Introduction to Molecular Technique – Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania 2000, 2) Comprehensive course in shipping Infectious and Diagnostic Specimen, Dar es Salaam December 2003, 3) International Tuberculosis Course, Arusha Tanzania 8th – 26th November 2004, 4) Advanced Course on AFB Smear Microscopy, Kampala, Uganda December 2008, 5) TOT training in External Quality Assurance (EQA), Tanga August 2008, 6) Good Clinical and Laboratory Practice (GLCP) Dar es salaam, August 2012, 7) The 6th Quality Management of Concurrent Infections Control of TB and HIV for Africa” (Nile Basin Countries) and Djibouti, Ismailia – Egypt May 12th – June 11th 2013, 8) Advanced Training on Xpert MTB/RIF, Maurens – Scopont, France 26th to 28th August 2013, 9) Training on Root course Analysis and Management of Non-conforming Events, Morogoro 22nd – 26th September 2014, 10) Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Durban, South Africa, 6-7 October 2014.
