Ms. Nteghenjwa Kitufe

PRINCIPAL HEALTH LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Ms Nteghenjwa Athuman Kitufe is a Principal Health Laboratory Scientist at the National Institute for Medical Research, Muhimbili Centre, with a BSc in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences and an MSc in Epidemiology and Laboratory Management. With 21 years at NIMR, he has been directly involved in health-related research activities within his profession. His core responsibilities include laboratory isolation and identification of microbial and other public health threat agents, performing quality control and quality assurance of compounds and samples in the laboratory, as well as supervising, monitoring, and evaluating laboratory activities. He also participates in research on HIV and TB and other infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, antimicrobial resistance, stewardship and surveillance, and the effects of climate change on health.
