Dan Bhwana

Dr. Dan Bhwana, a medical doctor with experience in public health in rural areas; was trained at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and underwent international training on epidemiology, biostatistics and qualitative research methods course at University of Antwerp, Belgium. Currently, he is a PhD student at the University of Antwerp. He has been working with the project entitled “Multi-disciplinary approach to control epilepsy in onchocerciasis-endemic villages in the Mahenge area in Morogoro region, Tanzania” under National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), Tanga Centre in collaboration with Global Health Institute, University of Antwerp. Recently, he has been involved in Epilepsy Pathway Innovations in Africa (EPInA) research project, Tanzania team.

Dr. Bhwana’s Research interests are; Public health, Neglected tropical disease (NTDs), Neuro-epidemiology, Primary health care, Genetic epidemiology, and general practice. He has over a dozen publications in peer reviewed journals
