Anangisye Malabeja
Dr Anangisye Malabeja is a Research Officer working with National Institute for Medical Research-Tanga Medical Research Centre based at Korogwe Research station. He attained his bachelor degree in Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2005 at University of Dar Es Salaam and is a registered Medical Doctor by the Medical Council of Tanganyika. He has been participating in a number of clinical trials conducted at NIMR Tanga Medical Research Centre (Korogwe Research Station) as Study Physician and Co Investigator. Some of these studies includes; a study of Survival benefit of injectable Artesunate versus Quinine in African children with severe Malaria (AQUAMAT) and a Phase three randomized controlled study to determine the efficacy of RTS,S ASO1E Malaria vaccine candidate (MAL 055 Study).
Currently he is a Co-investigator of two studies A multi centre randomized controlled non inferiority trial to compare the efficacy, safety and tolerability of Triple Arteminisin based combination therapies versus first line ACTs + placebo for the treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in Africa (DeTACT), and the study to compare feasibility and cost effectiveness of standard injectable artesunate vs new 1-step reconstitution injectable artesunate for the treatment of severe falciparum malaria.
